FAQ
CLASSES/PRIVATE LESSONS
We accept students up to 3 weeks past the beginning of the semester as long as there is room in the class. We are, however, not able to pro-rate for students who join late or who are not able to make certain classes.
Any studio closures are communicated via email. We generally follow the Fairfield Public Schools schedule. Any weather-related class cancellations are made up at the end of the semester.
Due to our tight class and production schedule, we are not able to offer makeup sessions for those who cannot attend a class.
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any lessons canceled within 24 hours will be charged for the full amount.
A vast majority of our classes are skills-based rather than performance-based and do not culminate in a performance, other than Rising Stars, which does end in a cabaret performed at FTC! Skills-based classes allow students to hone technique in a supportive learning environment without the pressure of a performance. If a student is interested in performing, we recommend auditioning for one of our mainstage productions.
Our community thrives when our students are present. We do not have an attendance policy unless students are involved in our MainStage productions. In that case, students are allowed two excused absences. We kindly request that students let us know in advance if they are unable to attend class.
MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS
Yes! We love when community members join us. Please visit our “Shows” tab for audition information. Adult community members are not required to pay an audition or performance fee.
Casting is not guaranteed for our productions.
What is required for the audition varies from show to show, so please check out specific details on the “Shows” tab. All students who are cast in a mainstage are required to take group class.
We do not provide individual audition feedback. This helps keep the process fair, consistent, and professional. In most real-world audition settings, specific feedback is not provided. However, many of our musical theater classes, particularly audition technique classes, as well as private lessons, do focus on building these skills. If you are interested in receiving coaching in this area, we encourage you to register for those offerings.
SUMMER CAMP
Fairfield Theatre Company has a firm policy of no refunds or exchanges unless the specific camp has a waitlist and the spot can be filled. Camp spots are transferable. No refunds will be processed within 14 days of the camp start date regardless of spots being filled.
